Jimmy Fallon, Carly Rae Jepsen & The Roots Sing “Call Me Maybe”…..with classroom instruments.

“Music Room”: Backstage before the show, Jimmy, Carly Rae Jepsen, and The Roots grabbed some instruments you’d find in an elementary school classroom and performed “Call Me Maybe.” They look like they had so much fun making this video!

In keeping with the theme this week, I thought I would share with you a few interesting root related recipes, projects, and items that I came across. I hope they leave you feeling as inspired to try out as they did me!

Jihyun Ryou from Save Food From The Fridge has figured out a way we can take back responsibility of food storage and preservation. Quite genius if you ask me!

Jill from Homemade by Jill came up with the most creative root beer gift set perfect for many special occasions or just treating those root beer fans you may know!

If you are feeling particularly ambitious you can even make you own using this homemade kit!

Jenn from Just Jenn Recipes can teach you how to make delicious root beer treats including these Root Beer Cupcakes!

This Root Liqueur from Cask peaked my interest…..intriguing.

Lastly, the most interesting wine decanter I have ever seen! Etienne Meneau has created true works of art!

Happy Thursday!

roots and wings

roots and wings

“There are two things we should give our children; one is roots, and the other is wings.”   – Hodding Carter

I still smile like this sometimes.  I can imagine myself saying “cheeeese” as this photo was taken 30 years ago.  My brothers and sister all made the same face when they were young and smiling at a camera too.

My siblings and I have been so blessed to have parents that let us discover our own way and encourage us to follow our dreams.  I jumped from ballet to gymnastics to cheerleading to softball.  I dreamed of being a model (my fifth grade yearbook is proof of this), a teacher, a veterinarian, and eventually ended up in (gasp!) …art school. They never pushed me down any path, but gently steered me in the right direction.  I ended up in just the right place.
