*This is a post I wrote several months back on my personal blog but I thought I would share it here today since it is the season for wrapping!
It was my first attempt at decorating my own wrapping paper and I discovered a few things that worked and some that didn’t. I’ll let you be the judge in deciding how it turned out….
Step #1: Measure wrapping paper (in this case I am using a large roll of brown drawing paper I had from college and recently unearthed in my parents garage). Score! You can get yours here.
Step #2: Take a glass (or any round top object will do) and draw circles on another sheet of paper the same or similar size as the one you will be wrapping with…
Step #3: Cut out circles and place them by taping on wrapping paper surface…
Step #4: Choose desired color of spray paint and coat wrapping paper with circles still taped in place. I used pink here but red or white would be perfect for the Holidays!
Step #5: Remove cutout circles…
Step #6: Wrap gift and use ribbon, or in this case yarn, to tie a bow…
Voila…instantly personalized! I even used one of the circles to make a little heart label but after Heather’s post yesterday I will be using one of these!
Cost: $0. All products used were those that I had laying around the house!
Time: About 30 minutes. If I was to do this again I think I could move a bit faster. I wasn’t exactly sure what I was doing. 🙂
All in all….pretty cute, don’t ya think?

Anyone who knows me, knows that I LOVE creative people who are able to think out of the box and have a little fun!
The holidays are no exception! My husband and I have enjoyed designing our own Christmas cards for several years now but only since our son was born have we taken it to the next level. Don’t get me wrong, we still love and can appreciate a “regular” Christmas card, but nothing makes our house light up quite like one that is creative and fun.
This year is our best card yet in my opinion, and while we aren’t quite ready to reveal what our theme is this year (we are mailing them this week), I thought I would share some fun designs I came across online!
This was our family card from last year….
Dyce was only about 7 months old so I had to hold him up and then my husband photoshopped me out!
A cute way to show the family from Threaded Together…
The most incredible felt cards by You Are My Fave….
Cards with candy? Yes, please! From Living Locurto…
Family mugshots from Summertime Designs….
Lastly, a pretty amazing iphone card featured on Leawo….
So, you guys doing anything different with your cards this year?! If so, I would love to see!

I don’t know about you, but I am pretty much a sucker for festive cocktails. Regardless of the season, a pretty drink always puts my senses in overdrive….especially the eye candy that exists only in holiday cocktails!
Here are a few that stood out as main contenders for Cocktail of the Season, but be warned because one too many could leave you ending up on the naughty list….
1. Jess Potter featured her beautiful creation, Lady Alexander, on The Grid. 2. Single Minded Women featured this appropriately named cocktail, The Grinch. 3. Nicole from The Plunge Project featured this delicious Smirnoff Marshmallow Fluff Hot Chocolate 4. The sparkle in my eye…The Amore Frizzante 5. Kori from Real Moms Guide featured this festive Chocolate Peppermint Cookie along with 6. this Seven Layer Cookie!!!
Many of these cocktails would be just as delicious (and slightly less naughty) if you left the alcohol out or replaced the Prosecco with sparkling cider – so don’t drink and drive folks (unless of course you are being pulled by 8 tiny reindeer, then I suppose they are technically driving – but in that case you should probably lay off the alcohol anyway because people will start to talk. I digress…)
Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are gearing up for the Holidays!
