hosting my first thanksgiving – part 2

My Thanksgiving table is set! The linens have been pressed, the china has been cleaned and I finally decided on my Thanksgiving table decorations. A couple of weeks ago, I posted a bunch of Thanksgiving decorating ideas I had been gathering up. Here is what I ended up with:

I purchased the hurricane glass and candle at Garden Ridge. The nuts came from my local grocery store.

I also wanted to decorate our mantle in the living room which opens up to our kitchen. This main room is where everyone will be hanging out while the turkey is cooking and football is on. Check out what I came up with:

I am so excited to be hosting Thanksgiving this year for the first time ever for my husband and I’s families! We just moved into our new house last December, so this is the first November in our house. We were so rushed to even get a Christmas tree up last year, so we are really looking forward to the holidays this year now that we are settled.

For our big Thanksgiving feast, I have been racking my brain (ok, I have been digging through Pinterest) to find the perfect decor, appetizers, place settings, etc. I haven’t quite decided what to do yet, but I wanted to share with you some of the great ideas I have come across.
