While driving to dinner last weekend, my husband and I passed a home decorated for Christmas… which made him shout out something like, WHOA DID YOU SEE THAT?! I wasn’t sure what house he was talking about.. I was busy noticing the tastefully decorated bushes of one house, and the others with candles in the windows (while driving and paying attention to the road, of course!).
On our way back home he had me pull down the street for a closer look.
I must be blind.
I have no clue how I missed THIS:
I mean, wow! We pulled up in front of the house… along with a line of cars who pulled up behind us. We had no words for what we were looking at. And then I rolled down the window to grab a couple of iphone pics, and it got better!
Christmas music was blaring.
This house definitely gives Chevy Chase a run for his money, and a whole new meaning to showing your Christmas spirit! But I had to wonder how their neighbors feel? The houses on either side had not one single decoration…
So, how do you decorate? We do wreaths on the front doors and some candles in the windows. Basic stuff that you wouldn’t be able to see from space.
‘Tis the season!

Anyone out there win Powerball?
I’ll admit I got caught up in all the hype and purchased a few tickets. And of course I’m taking the time to write this because its Wednesday night and they haven’t done the drawing… Which means I haven’t darted off for my own private island just yet.
And really the best part of the whole thing is really the DREAM of it all. What would you do with all that money?! Retire. New house. New car. Take care of family and donate a portion. Go on the trip of a lifetime (or a few!) and then fill the rest of your days with who and what you love.
I overheard countless conversations along those lines.
Are you someone who thinks that amount of money is scary? Have you seen the documentaries on past winners? Some just aren’t capable of handling such extreme wealth; they say winning was the worst thing to happen to them.
I guess I decided to take my chances.
Plus, it’s fun to imagine!

Not hosting Thanksgiving this year and worried about missing out on the yummy leftovers? Have no fear! These open-faced turkey sandwiches are super easy to make — in this case, all you need is a crock pot and a microwave.
Ingredients are simple:
2 lbs turkey breasts
microwave mashed potatoes (or you can get fancy and whip up the real thing)
2 12 oz jars of gravy (I’ve used Heinz Home Style)
Bread
Cranberry sauce optional
And so is the cooking!:
Put turkey breasts and gravy in crock pot; cook on high for 7 – 8 hours
Toast bread
Microwave mashed potatoes
Combine ingredients onto sandwich and enjoy!
